Do you think i should calleed him?

To make the story short he always called me a lot but idk what happen that he dont call me now only a few times!! And when he dont called him he strat to make excuses. But yesterday i called my friend ant told her to calle d him to ask him but in a indirect way . She never called me and he never called me and idk if i can called him to ask what happen? what do you think should i called him?
